Flying high for Christmas in Thurnscoe!
Just because the usual Christmas Cracker event has had to be cancelled this year due to Covid-19, we have refused to let this dampen our Christmas spirit!
The last couple of weeks has seen Christmas Lights go up along the main road in the village, and the donation of a large tree by Mr and Mrs Andrews has now been installed at Thurnscoe Library in partnership with Twiggs Grounds Maintenance – big thanks to all of them!
The official switch on date is Saturday 28th November, and to bring a little extra cheer in this difficult year, the partnership have had a word with a very special visitor to see if he could make an early appearance with a special message for all our residents.
At about 12 noon on Saturday, we invite you all to look into the skies to see if you can see it!
We know that this has been a hard year for many people and at Big Local Thurnscoe we wanted to try and bring something a bit different to the village. We hope that it will spread a little bit of Christmas sparkle to everyone.
We have also contributed £500 towards the Winter Warmer packs being distributed to older residents in the village, and towards Christmas Craft activities for families.
