Thurnscoe Plaza Project
Over the last few years, Big Local Thurnscoe has invested significant amounts of money into play and leisure facilities. As part of our remit to make Thurnscoe a ‘better place to live’, we are now supporting the development of a fantastic new project in Thurnscoe.
Thurnscoe Plaza
Thurnscoe Plaza will ideally be sited next to the existing MUGA on Thurnscoe Sports Ground where it would be visible from the main road and in a central location. It will provide opportunities for skate, scoot, bike and parkour as well as an attractive meeting place with the potential for even more facilities over time. We believe that there is a lot of support for such a project that would open up and revitalise the wider area to create a multi use recreation space to serve all ages and abilities. Big Local Thurnscoe would provide initial investment whilst looking for additional funding to complete the project. Our legacy organisation Thurnscoe Regeneration CIO is now set up and would continue to maintain the Plaza beyond the lifetime of Big Local Thurnscoe.
The Survey: Over to you!
We are now taking our initial thoughts and preliminary designs out to the wider public. We are keen to get as much feedback as possible for the project from all sections of our community- young people, families, interested residents and other community groups. Tell us what you think about the design and any areas of concern that you have.
If you would rather discuss this in person, please contact our Development Worker Alison Vint on 07557 740330 or call in to Thurnscoe Library.
